Reliability
Many travellers ask whether ABC Transport is reliable.
ABC Transport has built a reputation as one of Nigeria's leading interstate transportation companies, on the strength of its broad route network, its long-standing presence in the market and its extensive terminal infrastructure.
Listing on the Nigerian Exchange in 2007 also means fleet numbers, financial results and incident reporting are published rather than held privately, which makes the operator easier to assess than most of its competitors.
Passengers should always compare schedules, routes and fares before booking, to select the travel option that best suits their needs.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. ABC Transport is one of a small number of Nigerian operators running scheduled cross-border coaches, with Coach West Africa services to Accra in Ghana, Cotonou in Benin Republic and Lomé in Togo. These legs use the highest-specification 49-seat Executive Coaches, and seats can be searched and booked through Intercity in the same way as a domestic route. Carry a valid international passport, a Yellow Fever certificate and any visa the countries on your route require of your nationality.
The Executive Coach is a full-size 49-seat vehicle used on the long Abuja, Port Harcourt and cross-border runs; the longer-distance units carry an onboard washroom. The Jet Executive is a Toyota Coaster-bodied bus with fewer seats, used on shorter legs such as Owerri to Port Harcourt and on some Enugu departures. The Luxurious Coach sits above both, with two-by-two extended-recline seating and a fare premium to match.
Yes. ABC Cargo Express counters sit inside the same terminals as passenger check-in, so you can consign freight and check in for your own seat in one visit. This is handled as a separate transaction from your bus ticket, priced by weight and destination, and the cargo desk keeps its own operating hours — arrive earlier than your departure time if you intend to do both.
Two pieces per adult travel free in the underfloor hold, in addition to a small item you keep with you in the cabin. Anything beyond that is weighed and charged at the cargo counter rather than being refused at the door. Because the hold is shared across a 49-seat load, oversized single items are the most likely to be turned away, so split heavy loads into smaller pieces where you can.
Yes. ABC Transport Plc listed on the Nigerian Exchange in 2007 and remains one of very few road transport operators in the country to have done so. For passengers the practical consequence is disclosure: fleet numbers, financial results and incident reporting are published rather than held privately, which makes the operator easier to assess than most of its competitors.
The head office and main Owerri terminal sit along Onitsha Road, and it functions as both the corporate base and a working departure point for the Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt services. Because the maintenance workshop is on the same site, this is also where coaches are serviced between rotations. Confirm the exact bay with the terminal before travel, as departure points within the site shift with the schedule.
Overnight departures usually price a little below the morning coach and arrive early enough to give you a full working day at the destination, but the cabin lights and screens stay off so you cannot easily read or work. The morning services run with entertainment screens active and let you see the road, at the cost of arriving in the evening. On the Lagos to Owerri and Lagos to Aba corridors both are scheduled daily.
